Instituto Acton

Instituto Acton was founded in Buenos Aires in 2005. An independent affiliate of the Michigan-based Acton Institute, its objective is to work for the promotion of a free and virtuous society.

Instituto Acton’s mission is to promote a free and virtuous society, characterized by individual rights and economic liberty, in harmony with the principles of the Catholic Faith and the Judeo-Christian tradition. In pursuit of these goals, Instituto Acton engages in a wide range of activities: publication of books and articles on topics relevant to their mission; conferences for discussion and debate on these topics; and courses, seminars, and other educational events. Another ongoing initative is Cátedra Acton, an extensive series of lectures and colloquia targeting an academic and professional audience. These provide educational content on Catholic social teaching and theology, political theory, and capitalism.
